Throughout my career, I have combined imagination and technical expertise to create captivating works of art. I am a versatile designer and artist, skilled in a wide range of tangible and virtual mediums. With a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and an eye for detail, I create visually appealing designs. Additionally, my proficiency in front-end development enables me to bridge the gap between design and implementation, resulting in efficient, yet creative, solutions. While my primary focus has been on user-centered design and front-end development, I have also pursued crafty artistic endeavors, both personally and professionally. These include crafting cosplays, creating and selling masks during quarantine, and exploring different forms of painting, such as watercolor, acrylic, and digital art.
As a dynamic and results-driven Senior UX/UI Designer with a strong taste for UX research, I excel at crafting innovative solutions that ensure user engagement and satisfaction. I leverage my experience in user research to gather valuable insights that inform design decisions and drive meaningful conversations. With an informed understanding of human needs and a dedication to creating exceptional user experiences, I specialize in creating wireframes, prototypes, and other design deliverables that effectively communicate and validate design concepts. I employ various tools (design apps, Miro, Optimal Workshop) and methodologies (interviews, process flows) to translate user insights into artifacts that guide the design process. Moreover, I am experienced in leading knowledge elicitation sessions and workshops.
I blossom in an environment that encourages independence and self-direction, allowing me to take ownership of projects to achieve outstanding results. That being said. I strongly believe in the power of collaboration and effective communication, as they are essential for successful teams and successful projects.
Thriving in multidisciplinary teams, I contribute my creative mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. I strike a balance between creativity and data-driven decision-making, ensuring that user-centered solutions align with best practices and business goals while also looking, shall I say, dope as hell. Having worked both as a one-woman UX/UI team and as a leader of a small UX/UI army, I am well-prepared to lead successful UX initiatives and make a lasting impact.
In 2015, I was presented with an opportunity to fulfill my long-standing aspiration of teaching. I enthusiastically embraced the chance and taught basic and advanced web design to graphic design majors at the University of Dayton until 2018. Subsequently, I transitioned to teaching teenagers at Stivers School for the Arts, where I served as the Computer Graphics instructor until 2021. In this role, I guided students through art and design principles, and we applied them in digital design projects.
Community involvement and supporting meaningful causes hold immense significance to me. I proudly serve as a leading committee member of Extra Life Dayton, a charity that benefits Dayton Children’s Hospital, where I have been actively involved for over 10 years.
Additionally, I have been vocal about speaking out against injustices in our country and our world. As creators, be it advertisers, marketers, or designers, I firmly believe that we play a pivotal role in driving positive change and advocating for a diverse and accessible future. Altruism is at the core of my work, and I am driven by the desire to create products that positively impact users’ lives. I believe in designing inclusive experiences that cater to diverse audiences, fostering empathy and accessibility. Furthermore, I am always eager to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
